Hudson Division “Town Hall” Meeting

Sunday, February 11 at 8 PM - 10:30 PM EST

The meeting will be in webinar format, and is open ONLY to paid up ARRL members in the Hudson Division.

This will be the first time we have ever had a general membership meeting. The Director will discuss the recent ARRL happenings, the January Board meeting, the changes in the League management, and my testimony before the U.S. Senate on January 25th.

Young Hams Lends a Hand

The submission period is open for the annual "Young Hams Lend a Hand" contest! By April 1st hams can submit an informal statement explaining why they choose a young ham who has volunteered service to the community to win this contest. The volunteerism can be helping the elderly, assisting military personnel, community volunteering, etc. The winner is announced at the Youth Forum and receives a $100 award. Narrow Band Emergency Messaging System (NBEMS) is a messaging system used by different agencies including ARES, RACES, MARS, FEMA, The Red Cross, and the national weather services to pass digital traffic (messages) like radiograms, incident reports and even weather reports during emergencies. FlDIGI is a software package used to send and receive NBEMS messages digitally.


Ria Jairam (N2RJ) Headlines FLARC October Speaker Series

As part of its 2017 Speaker Series, The Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club will feature a presentation "YLs, SDR and Setting Up A World Class Station". The speaker will be Ria Jairam (N2RJ), a world class contest operator and member of the Frankford Radio Club. Ria will be discussing the latest technology and offerings from Flex Radio, the HPSDR project (Ananradios), RTL-SDR and others, as well as practical tips for contesting, DXing and rag chewing using your SDR.

JOTA this weekend!

On October 20th and 21st, local area scouts will have the opportunity to participate in the largest "get together" of scouts around the world. The annual Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) is the largest scouting event in the world bringing together more than one million Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from over 30,000 locations and 150 countries through the use of amateur radio.
